About Passionate Paws Veterinary Surgery

Located in the heart of Hervey Bay, we welcome all pets and pet parents from the Hervey Bay and Maryborough surrounds. Whether you live in the Bay or are just visiting the area, all are welcome.

We are a brand new small animal clinic to Hervey Bay and opened our doors for the first time in October 2019. Our small team of 3 nurses and 4 veterinarians are dedicated to providing the highest level of professional service and care for your pet. Our team recognises the significance of your pets and the place they hold in your family and is dedicated to providing the highest standard of care for your pets.

The Passionate Paws team

Our principle veterinarian, Dr Amanda Finnis, has experience and special interests in surgery, dental care, animal behaviour, medicine, and guinea pig and other exotic animal health, just to name a few. She is currently undertaking a two-year medicine course to provide modern treatment techniques for regularly encountered medical conditions.

Our animal health care team are passionate in providing the best care for your pet and will offer education and advice to ensure your pet has the longest, happiest and healthiest life possible. We encourage preventative health care and open communication with pet parents, to reduce the number of problems animals they may experience. All nurses are encouraged to develop their interests with further study and developing skills that will add to the services they can provide the patients that they care for. They are all members of the Veterinary Nurses Council of Australia who validate their training and achievements. Learn more about our team >>

Fear-Free is our future!

As a new surgery, we are hoping to grow with the ever-evolving community of the Wide Bay region. As we develop, we are hoping that the services we can provide the families and their pets in the area more with each visit. Over the next few years, Passionate Paws will be working to become the first surgery within the area to be a certified Fear Free practice. We enjoy seeing pets visit us with wagging tails and purring, and want to make this experience as fear-free as possible.

We treat cats, dogs, guinea pigs, rats, mice and birds. We welcome you to bring your pet to meet our team at anytime.
